Definition:

Electrodes are made of conductive materials that are in contact with the dielectric layer and the external terminals.
Terminals provide a connection between the capacitor and the circuit.
In polarized capacitors like aluminum and tantalum, the positive electrode (terminal) is called the anode. The negative electrode (terminal) is called the cathode.
